This morning was our first official day of classes. We all met outside the apartment to walk to the classroom building together. We are able to take a short cut by walking along some mews (think alleys) that cut out a significant amount of time to the classroom.
Our classroom is quite small, but holds the 14 students without any problem. Typically the first day of class is all about getting to know each other, going over the syllabus, and covering big picture details. However, since we have been interacting for a few days already, we could jump right in. In addition, students were able to complete their first set of reading assignments before our first class. So, we had a robust class today.
After stopping at Atlantic House (AIFS office) to get two students set up with their wireless access, we all took a break for lunch. At 1:30, we met to walk to the Science Museum. Unfortunately, I was so excited that there was not a line at the entrance that I mistakenly led the students into the side entrance of the Natural History Museum. OOPS! I guess I fail at being a Blue Badge Guide! We exited the Natural History Museum and walked one door over and entered the Science Museum.
